My love for Pretty Little Liars is no secret (pun fully intended) and the big winter premiere tonight is nothing short of great. The girls are dealing with an unwelcome new classmate (Mona is back), some shady parental situations, and oh right, remember how Toby is on Team A? It’s sad we might not get to see those abs for too much longer. But I digress. I recently had the chance to catch up with Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson (Aria, Hanna and Emily, respectively) who shared what to expect this season, relationship drama and much more.

Shay Mitchell:

On the big premiere and the upcoming season: Oh my gosh, it’s getting crazy. I think this time around, A is really kind of pushing all of the girls literally to their end points. And I think one of them breaks a lot more than the other girls. So you kind of see the girls unravel.

Ashley Benson:

On the big premiere and Caleb: Oh me and Caleb. We’re great. We’re awesome. I’m really happy about it. Mona’s back so that kind of puts things into a whirlwind. She’s trying to be best friends with Hanna and Hanna doesn’t want to react. There’s more people who are involved with A now. We don’t know who to trust. The girls kind of turn against each other because we don’t know who’s involved. We don’t know what team someone’s on. It’s crazy. But it’s exciting, it’s dangerous, it’s fun and I think people are going to really like it.

On the big Toby reveal: Oh my God, I had no idea. And yes. It made me really upset.

Lucy Hale:

On the upcoming season: I think one of the main things is that Mona is back in school. She’s been released from Radley. I don’t know who signed that sheet that got her out of the sanitarium, but she’s back. And so, it seems like she’s changed and she’s become a new person. So the girls don’t know if she’s on their side or this is just her whole plan to ruin their lives even more.

On the news about her dad: I think there’s definitely a stage of denial. And then, it’s like a slow realization of, this is not okay. She lives at home with her dad and it’s pretty much [going to] last the whole season, the whole situation. We don’t know if he was involved with the death of Alison or if he was just framed or what’s going on. It’s definitely a little strange. And she feels really uncomfortable to say the least.

On Ezra: Aria’s whole storyline is this child. Oh now he has a kid, great. Add that to the plate. So it’s just dealing with that and how to move forward. Or if she wants to move forward with him.

Be sure to tune in tonight at 8 PM to ABC Family for the big winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars.
